Oppo presented its new low-cost smartphone – Oppo A16

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo has launched a budget device on the smartphone market – the A16. It’s a low-cost smartphone with a large battery.

The A16 features a 6.5-inch HD + screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a notch at the top center for an 8MP selfie camera. As for the main camera, it consists of three modules of 13, 2 and 2 megapixels. The device is powered by the eight-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor running the ColorOS 11.1 operating system. The latter is based on Android 11.

The smartphone received 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory; a large 5000 mAh battery, a 3.5 mm headphone hole and a USB Type-C port. Oppo A16 will be on sale for $ 140.

The economic recovery after a protracted period of stagnation caused by the pandemic not only led to an increase in smartphone sales; but also led to changes in the top three leaders in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung remained the leading producer with a share of 19% of smartphones sold in the world. The Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi, thanks to the rapid growth of sales – by 83%, for the first time in history took the second place with a share of 17% . Apple came in third with a 14% share; while Chinese smartphone makers Oppo and Vivo maintained strong growth and ended the second quarter of 2021 in the top five with 10% of the smartphone market each.
